Four-Star RB Deshonne Redeaux Trending Toward USC

Posted By MGrass

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Deshonne Redeaux, a four-star running back from Oaks Christian High School, appears to be trending toward the USC Trojans of the Big Ten Conference. Multiple recruiting experts have placed predictions for the talented 2026 prospect to join USC’s top-ranked recruiting class. Redeaux is currently ranked as the No. 115 overall prospect and No. 12 running back nationally according to the On3 Industry Ranking. The California native stands out as the No. 14 player in the talent-rich Golden State and has been a priority target for several major programs throughout his recruitment process. Recruitment Update

The timing of these predictions comes just as USC has overtaken Oregon for the No. 1 spot in the On3 Industry Football Team Recruiting Rankings. Redeaux named his top six schools last month, including Georgia Bulldogs, Michigan Wolverines, Oregon Ducks, UCLA Bruins, USC Trojans, and Washington Huskies. However, On3 Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons and WeAreSC.com insider Scott Schrader have both logged predictions for the Trojans.

“At one point, I was very close to committing to UCLA and they’re still high on my list,” Redeaux told On3. “But I’ve really connected with USC’s coaching staff, especially Coach Jones. The way they use running backs in their offense really stands out to me.”

Redeaux has visited USC more than half a dozen times over the past year, significantly more than any other program on his list.

Player Profile

Redeaux possesses an elite combination of breakaway speed and power that translates perfectly to the next level. At 5-foot-11 and 190 pounds, he demonstrates exceptional vision and contact balance, allowing him to both evade tacklers and run through arm tackles when necessary. His acceleration through holes and ability to change direction without losing speed make him a threat to score from anywhere on the field.

“Redeaux shows advanced patience for a high school back, with the burst to exploit holes as they develop,” according to Rivals analyst Adam Gorney. “His combination of top-end speed and physicality projects well to the Power Four level.”

During his junior season at Oaks Christian, Redeaux accumulated 1,263 rushing yards and 17 touchdowns while averaging an impressive 7.2 yards per carry against some of California’s top competition.

School Fit

The Trojans have made Redeaux feel like a top priority throughout his recruitment, with head coach Lincoln Riley and running backs coach Anthony Jones establishing a strong relationship with the talented back. USC’s offensive scheme would allow Redeaux to showcase his versatility both as a runner and receiver out of the backfield.

USC already has seven in-state commitments in their 2026 class, demonstrating their commitment to dominating California recruiting under Riley. Adding Redeaux would give the Trojans another blue-chip talent to their already impressive haul that has them ranked No. 1 nationally.

The proximity to home appears to be a significant factor for Redeaux, with both Los Angeles schools featuring prominently in his recruitment. USC’s recent momentum on the recruiting trail, including several high-profile commitments, has created a snowball effect that seems to be influencing Redeaux’s thinking.

Future Timeline

Redeaux plans to make additional campus visits this spring, including another trip to USC. While he hasn’t announced a firm commitment date, industry sources expect a decision before his senior season begins. The consensus among recruiting analysts is that USC has established itself as the clear frontrunner, though Oregon and Washington remain in contention following his recent visits to both campuses.
