KNOXVILLE, TN: According to 30.1, the Andrew Rogers Tennessee visit will take center stage this weekend as the four-star Virginia Tech defensive end commit heads to Neyland Stadium. Rogers will attend the Tennessee-Georgia game on Saturday, with kickoff scheduled for 3:30 p.m. EDT on ABC.

Andrew Rogers Tennessee Visit Takes Priority Over Virginia Tech

Rogers made a significant decision regarding his weekend plans, canceling his scheduled Virginia Tech visit to attend the Tennessee-Georgia matchup instead. The Hokies were set to host Old Dominion on Saturday, but Rogers announced his change of plans simply stating, “I will be in Tennessee this weekend.”

The 6-foot-6, 240-pound prospect from Grimsley High School in Greensboro, North Carolina brings impressive credentials to his Andrew Rogers Tennessee visit. According to 247Sports, Rogers ranks as the No. 32 defensive end in the class and the No. 18 player in North Carolina.

Recruiting Timeline and SEC Interest

Virginia Tech offered Rogers a scholarship on April 22, and he committed to the Hokies on August 22. However, Tennessee entered the picture when they offered Rogers during his unofficial visit for Big Orange BBQ on May 31.

The SEC has shown considerable interest in Rogers, with multiple conference schools extending scholarship offers. Besides Tennessee, other SEC programs pursuing Rogers include:

  • Kentucky
  • South Carolina
  • LSU
  • Auburn
  • Georgia
  • Arkansas

Grimsley High School Connection

An intriguing connection exists between Rogers and Tennessee’s recruiting efforts through Grimsley High School. Current 2026 Tennessee quarterback commit Faizon Brandon also plays for Grimsley, potentially providing additional influence in the Volunteers’ pursuit of Rogers.

Tennessee currently boasts 24 commitments in its 2026 recruiting class, including quarterback Faizon Brandon, wide receiver Tyreek King, offensive lineman Gabriel Osenda, linebacker Braylon Outlaw, and defensive lineman CJ Edwards among others. The class also features safety KJ McClain, defensive end Kedric Golston II, and offensive lineman Edward Baker.
