Five-Star Caleb Holt Set for Kentucky Visit After Arkansas Trip
LEXINGTON, KY: According to 30.1, five-star shooting guard Caleb Holt will make his Caleb Holt Kentucky visit this weekend after completing an official visit to Arkansas with John Calipari.
The No. 4 overall player in the 2026 class was initially scheduled to visit Kentucky from September 5-7. However, reports later suggested the visit had been pushed back to September 12-14. According to his father, Holt is now officially set to visit Kentucky this weekend, giving the Wildcats an opportunity to host him just days after his Arkansas trip.
Arkansas Visit Impresses Alabama Standout
Over the weekend, Holt traveled to Fayetteville to visit Calipari’s Arkansas program. The 6-foot-5 prospect with a 6-foot-9 wingspan attended an Arkansas football game and observed basketball practice while having extensive conversations with the Hall of Fame coach.
“Yeah, it’s been a great vibe,” Holt said about his Arkansas visit. “It was our first football game, so they was out here. It was a great experience.”
Furthermore, Holt elaborated on his conversations with Calipari during the visit. “Coach Cal, we got to talk a lot this weekend. We ate a lot of food together, so we had a lot of basketball conversations. He’s talking about, you know, if I come here, he’d look for me to be a leader. Of course, with his history and everything with one-and-done, that’s my goal and everything.”
Additionally, Holt described the intensity of Arkansas practice sessions. “The practice was intense. Coach Cal holds his guys accountable because he wants them to be the best. They got a lot of shots up, went over a lot of their offense, and it was fast. He runs a fast offense.”
During his visit, Holt also spoke with Anthony Black, a former Arkansas star now playing in the NBA.
Mark Pope Connection from USA Basketball
Kentucky head coach Mark Pope has an existing relationship with Holt that dates back to USA Basketball training camp. Pope served as Holt’s on-court coach during the camp, creating a foundation for their recruiting relationship.
“Coach Pope, he was my on-court coach at USA (training camp),” Holt said earlier this summer. “I got to play for him, and it was actually fun, he let me rock out. He was like, that’s how it’s gonna be at Kentucky. Kentucky is definitely in the mix, high up. I mess with Mark Pope and everything.”
This existing relationship could play a crucial role in the Caleb Holt Kentucky visit outcome.
Elite Prospect Profile
Holt brings impressive credentials as a five-star shooting guard from Alabama. His physical measurements and statistical production highlight his versatility:
• Ranked No. 4 overall in the 2026 class
• 6-foot-5 height with 6-foot-9 wingspan
• Averaged 7.4 rebounds and 2.5 steals per game
• Guards multiple positions as a defensive standout
• Combines length, athleticism, strength, and speed
Offensively, his ability to attack while expanding his perimeter game gives him one of the highest floors in the 2026 class.
The weekend visit represents more than recruiting for Kentucky. It’s about proving the program can still compete with Calipari himself for the nation’s best players in the post-Calipari era. Landing Holt would send a strong message that Kentucky remains a top destination for elite talent.
