CLEMSON, SOUTH CAROLINA: Clemson Tigers football recruiting soared following their Elite Retreat weekend. The program secured four four-star commitments, propelling them to No. 11 in the On3 Industry Recruiting Rankings. The Tigers added pledges from receivers Naeem Burroughs and Connor Salmin. They also landed offensive tackle Adam Guthrie and offensive lineman Grant Wise.
“I had an awesome weekend in Clemson,” Wise said. “I got to hang around some of the guys and really get a deeper look into Clemson as a team. Last night I committed to Clemson.”
This recruiting surge strengthens Clemson’s 2025 class. The Tigers now feature nine total commitments.
Top Targets Show Strong Interest
Beyond the four commitments, several high-priority targets expressed significant interest after their visits:
- Zyon Guiles – No. 1 recruit in South Carolina and On3’s No. 3 defensive lineman nationally
- “The love is genuine from the staff and Coach Swinney.”
- “He makes time for the Lord and that’s what sticks out to me the most.”
- Currently considering Clemson alongside South Carolina Gamecocks, Alabama Crimson Tide, Florida Gators, Florida State Seminoles, Georgia Bulldogs and Tennessee Volunteers

- Tyler Atkinson – Five-star linebacker from Grayson (Ga.)
- Ranked as On3 Industry’s No. 1 linebacker nationally
- Impressed with Clemson’s personalized “AtkNup Plan”
- “Clemson’s feel is just different. They check a lot of my boxes for sure.”
- “Coach Dabo expressed how important it is for me to be there.”
- “He said I am his Trevor Lawrence for their defense.”

- Cam Brooks – Four-star edge rusher from Thomas County Central (Ga.)
- “Clemson was different! The energy there was amazing.”
- “Coach Dabo proved to me yesterday that he’s the best in the business.”
- “I can definitely see myself there.”

Distinctive Recruiting Approach Resonates
Clemson’s family-oriented recruiting philosophy connects with elite prospects across position groups. Four-star safety Blake Stewart emphasized Clemson is “very high” on his list. Four-star edge Dre Quinn appreciated the “family-oriented environment which my parents and I love.”
The Tigers’ offensive line recruiting also yielded positive feedback. Four-star lineman Carter Scruggs praised Coach Luke’s emphasis on technique. Tampa Bay Tech four-star Canon Pickett highlighted “the whole family environment of Clemson.”
With nine commitments already secured, the ACC program’s 2025 class looks strong. Numerous top prospects have shown serious interest. The Tigers appear poised for a potential top-10 finish nationally as several key targets approach decision timelines.
