Dante Moore Oregon Quarterback Praised by Joel Klatt
EUGENE, OR: According to 30.1, Dante Moore Oregon quarterback has emerged as a standout performer through his first two starts with the Ducks. The redshirt sophomore has completed 34 of 44 passing attempts for 479 yards and six touchdowns while throwing zero interceptions.
Transfer Success Story
Moore began his college career at UCLA before transferring to Oregon in 2024. Subsequently, he spent a full season learning behind Dillon Gabriel, positioning himself as the primary starter for the Ducks in 2025. The 20-year-old quarterback now leads Oregon’s offensive attack under head coach Dan Lanning and offensive coordinator Will Stein.
Dante Moore Oregon Quarterback Draws High Praise
Fox Sports analyst Joel Klatt evaluated Oregon’s film while preparing for Saturday’s game against Northwestern. On The Joel Klatt Show, he delivered strong praise for the young signal-caller: “Dante Moore, ladies and gentlemen, is a quarterback that I think could be better than the quarterbacks that Lanning has had at Oregon in the last few years. And I loved Bo Nix and I loved Dillon Gabriel. So that’s saying a lot.”
Klatt’s assessment carries significant weight considering Oregon’s recent quarterback success. Bo Nix accumulated 15,351 yards and 113 touchdowns during his college career, leading the FBS in completion percentage and touchdowns in his senior season. Meanwhile, Dillon Gabriel surpassed those totals with 18,722 passing yards and 155 touchdowns, leading the Big Ten with 275.5 passing yards per game. Both quarterbacks now play in the NFL.
Higher Ceiling Projection
The Fox Sports analyst believes Moore’s potential exceeds his predecessors. “His ceiling is going to be higher than those guys, and he’s already been there,” Klatt explained. “Now remember, he transferred and sat last year behind Dillon Gabriel. So he’s got enough of the offense and enough of a grasp of the offense under Will Stein, the offensive coordinator, that they’re already doing things that Dillon Gabriel never got to.”
Furthermore, Klatt emphasized Moore’s natural talent: “(Bo Nix) was a first round draft pick, and Dante Moore has more talent than he does. He just does. His arm talent jumps off the tape. His ceiling is higher.”
The Dante Moore Oregon quarterback story continues Saturday against Northwestern, with Big Noon Fox providing coverage for his first road test.
