Dynasty Continues: Columbus High School Claims Fourth Straight Florida Basketball Title

Posted By MGrass

MIAMI, FL: The Columbus High School basketball dynasty has reached historic heights. After all, they just captured their fourth consecutive Florida Class 7A state championship. This impressive achievement now places the Explorers in elite company. Moreover, they’re just the 53rd team in American high school basketball history to win four straight titles in their highest classification.

The championship game was never close. First, Columbus built a commanding 27-7 lead after one quarter. Then, they extended it to 47-13 by halftime. Consequently, what should have been a competitive matchup quickly became a coronation ceremony.

Duke-Bound Stars Lead Championship Quest

Q+A with Christopher Columbus stars Cayden and Cameron Boozer

The Boozer twins have anchored this Columbus High School basketball dynasty from the beginning. Cameron Boozer, a five-star Duke Blue Devils signee, dominated the championship game. He contributed 20 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 blocks. Meanwhile, his brother Cayden—also Duke-bound—added 12 points with 6 assists and 5 rebounds.

Their basketball IQ separates them from typical high school prospects. As a result, scouts project both as potential NBA lottery selections. Furthermore, they follow the path of other elite talents featured in our 2025 NBA Mock Draft coverage.

National Championship Aspirations

Four straight state championships represent extraordinary success. However, the Columbus High School basketball dynasty aims even higher. The Explorers will next compete in the Chipotle Nationals tournament. Additionally, they’re expected to enter as the top seed against other powerhouses from our Top High School Basketball Teams rankings.

Notably, no team that competes in state championships has ever captured the Chipotle Nationals title. Therefore, Columbus faces a monumentally difficult challenge. Nevertheless, they hope to become the first program to achieve this remarkable double.

Program Excellence Sustains Success

Head coach Andrew Moran has built a sustainable system. Hence, Columbus develops new stars while maintaining their defensive identity.

“We focus on daily excellence,” Moran explained after the victory. “Subsequently, the championships take care of themselves.”

This approach mirrors successful models seen in elite ACC programs. In fact, culture development often proves as important as talent acquisition.

Before heading to Duke, the Boozer twins will attempt to complete their legacy at Chipotle Nationals. In conclusion, this could establish the Columbus High School basketball dynasty among the greatest prep teams ever assembled.
