GAINESVILLE, FL: Tyler Chukuyem Florida commitment news broke Monday when the 6-foot-6, 290-pound offensive tackle from South Paulding High School in Douglasville, Georgia announced his pledge to the Gators’ 2026 recruiting class.

 

The three-star prospect made his decision after completing one official visit to Gainesville. During his campus trip, Chukuyem engaged with Florida’s academic resources and met extensively with offensive line coach Rob Sale and assistant line coach Darnell Stapleton for film review sessions.

Education played a pivotal role in Chukuyem’s recruitment process. Moreover, the Georgia native highlighted Florida’s academic offerings as a primary factor.

 

“They have a new field coming up for what I want to study. I’m trying to study data analytics,” Chukuyem said. “Education is the number one priority for me and my family. Education is a big deciding factor.”

 

Before departing campus Sunday, Chukuyem quietly informed Florida’s coaching staff of his commitment decision. Subsequently, the news became official through recruiting reports Monday.

 

Florida’s 2026 Offensive Line Haul

Chukuyem becomes the 12th overall commitment in Florida’s 2026 class. Additionally, he represents the fourth offensive line pledge for the Gators.

 

The commitment joins other notable 2026 pledges including

 

• Four-star quarterback Will Griffin
• Four-star wide receiver Justin Williams
• Offensive linemen Chancellor Campbell, G’Nivre Carr, and Javarii Luckas

 

Florida’s coaching staff emphasized player development during Chukuyem’s recruitment. Furthermore, the prospect cited the program’s track record of producing NFL linemen as an influencing factor.

National recruiting services have evaluated Chukuyem’s potential at the next level. 247Sports assigns him an 89 overall grade while ranking him the No. 36 offensive tackle nationally and No. 47 prospect in Georgia.

 

Meanwhile, On3’s Industry Ranking places him as the No. 67 offensive tackle nationally. The service also lists him as Georgia’s No. 86 prospect in the 2026 class.

 

Chukuyem’s commitment represents part of Florida’s broader summer recruiting surge. The coaching staff continues targeting athletic, academically motivated offensive line prospects for their 2026 class.
