UConn Basketball Recruiting Visits Heat Up with Elite 2026 Prospects
STORRS, CT: According to 30.1, UConn basketball recruiting visits are heating up with three top prospects scheduled to visit campus over the next month.
Dylan Mingo Headlines UConn Basketball Recruiting Visits
Dylan Mingo leads the impressive lineup of prospects making their way to Storrs. The 6-foot-5 point guard from Glen Head, N.Y., begins his official visit this weekend starting Friday. Meanwhile, 247Sports ranks Mingo as the No. 7 recruit in the Class of 2026 and the top point guard in New York.
The Long Island Lutheran standout was teammates with current UConn freshman Jacob Ross. Additionally, Mingo has already visited Washington and Miami, telling Rivals he plans to make between five and eight total visits. His recruitment aligns perfectly with UConn’s preference for big point guards, following their success with 6-5 Tristen Newton during two national championship runs.
September Visits Feature Top-30 Talent
Cole Cloer will visit campus on September 12th as part of the upcoming UConn basketball recruiting visits. The 6-7 shooter from IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, ranks among the top-30 recruits nationally and brings good athleticism to complement his shooting ability.
Two weeks later, Junior County arrives for his September 26th visit. The 6-4 shooting guard from Wasatch Academy in Utah holds top-45 national ranking status. However, County maintains a busy schedule, visiting Indiana this weekend, Arizona on September 12th, Maryland on September 19th, and Purdue on November 15th.
Additional Prospects on UConn’s Radar
Bryson Howard extends the recruiting momentum with an October 17th official visit planned. The 6-5 forward from Frisco, Texas, ranks among the national top-30 recruits per 247Sports. Furthermore, Howard will also visit Duke, Houston, Kentucky, and Tennessee during his recruitment process.
UConn continues working to finalize visits from other high-priority targets. Qayden Samuels, a 6-6 forward and top-20 recruit from Maryland, remains in discussions for a potential visit. Similarly, Colben Landrew, a 6-6 forward from Georgia, has a visit potentially in the works.
The coaching staff also pursues top-line international players who can contribute beyond just roster depth. Notre Dame-West Haven star Abdou Toure recently visited Providence, though no immediate plans exist with UConn despite mutual interest.
