LOS ANGELES, CA: According to Sports Illustrated, five-star guard Brandon McCoy Jr High School Basketball debut at Pauley Pavilion featured 25 points and nine dunks, leading Sierra Canyon to a 60-45 victory over JSerra in the Trinity-Mission League Challenge Saturday night.

The nationally-ranked prospect showcased elite athleticism with spectacular highlights, including a fully-extended windmill dunk on a fourth-quarter breakaway and an impressive alley-oop from a baseline out-of-bounds play. Meanwhile, Sierra Canyon coach Andre Chevalier, who previously coached high-flying prospects Cassius Stanley and Nick Young, praised McCoy’s overall performance.
“He played great overall today. But, yes, I think God touched him when it came to athleticism,” Chevalier said following the victory.
Additionally, the Class of 2026 guard expressed satisfaction with his performance on the legendary UCLA court. Therefore, his debut provided validation after missing Sierra Canyon’s season opener due to transfer eligibility issues.

“Sitting out the first game was hard. It’s hard to go through all the preseason conditioning and not be able to play the first game of the season, but we’re back on the court now. Everything happens for a reason,” McCoy reflected on the eligibility delay.
