Columbus, Ohio: Sam Greer, the four star offensive tackle according to ON3 from Akron Archbishop Hoban, has committed to the Ohio State Buckeyes. The 6-foot-8, 290-pound lineman made his decision official Tuesday after surprising head coach Ryan Day and his staff on campus. Ranked as the nation’s No. 12 offensive tackle and No. 99 overall prospect by On3, Greer selected the defending National Champions over a strong list of suitors including Michigan Wolverines, Missouri Tigers, Florida Gators and Tennessee Volunteers. This commitment followed Greer’s second visit to Columbus in as many weeks. “I really enjoyed my time at OSU,” Greer explained after his recent visit. “The o-line has four different coaches helping with development and making sure you’re being the best version of yourself every day.” His addition strengthens an already impressive Ohio State recruiting class, currently ranked No. 6 nationally by On3. Greer joins five-star receiver Chris Henry Jr. and fellow in-state offensive line prospects Max Riley and Jakob Weatherspoon in the Buckeyes’ 2025 class.
Other programs that had offered Greer included Auburn Tigers, Florida State Seminoles, Miami Hurricanes and Wisconsin Badgers.
